In a bid to ensure the continuous education of teachers across the country, the Director General, Teachers Continuous Training Institute (TCTI), Biase, Cross River State, Professor Taoheed Adedoja has asked for a partnership with the management of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
Adedoja stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the corporate headquarters of NCDMB in the Bayelsa State capital, Yenagoa.
The TCTI helmsman disclosed that the purpose of his visit was to facilitate partnership between the institute and the board.
Adedoja who was accompanied by TCTI Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Godwin Ogar also met with top officials of the board Directorate of Human Resources which has Dr. Ama Ikuru as its Head.
He used the occasion to identify key areas of potential partnership that would improve the quality of education in the country especially in Cross River State.
Adedoja noted that since the take-off of TCTI in 2020, the institute has been in the forefront in providing the needed reskilling of teachers to meet up the current trends of teaching and learning.
Ikuru highlighted the various areas of intervention in the education sector by NCDMB over the years across the country and therefore commended the visit of Adedoja to the NCDMB corporate headquarters.
In a related development, Adedoja also visited one of Nigeria’s foremost private libraries, The Azaiki Foundation and Public Library which houses the Niger Delta Museum and Museum of African Arts, owned by the former member of the House of Representatives, Professor Steve Azaiki.
The TCTI helmsman’s portrait was admitted at the three story imposing library hall of fame for distinguished personalities whose contributions to knowledge have been internationally acknowledged.
Adedoja who was the former Minister of Sports and Special Duties commended the initiatives of Azaiki and charged his colleagues in the education sector to deposit their publications and research findings to the library for prosperity.
He promised to link the Azaiki Library to the TCTI e-library soon.
