Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has stated his readiness to get investors that will invest in what he called “Nigeria’s massive coastline and fishing industry” in the months ahead.

This is coming on the heels of reduction in the cases of piracy and other criminalities in Nigerian waters following the active roles of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

Oyetola who was the former governor of Osun State stated this during his maiden visit and tour of marine facilities of NIMASA in Lagos recently.

While expressing delight at the agency facilities, he commended the management of the organisation for its huge investment in security and human development.

The facilities toured by Oyetola included its head office, enforcement area, training school, as well as the Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4i).

His words: “I am impressed with what I have seen so far and I think we are really ready for the marine and blue economy in the real sense of it. Where we have issues, we are going to look at them with the view of ensuring that we are able to really prepare the ministry with the challenges ahead.”
