*Suspension Coming 3 Months After Her Confirmation by the Senate
Ms. Halima Shehu yesterday got a shocking new year gift as President Bola Tinubu has approved her immediate suspension as the National Co-ordinator and chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).
In the same vein, Tinubu also approved her immediate investigation over alleged financial malfeasance.
With her suspension and investigation into the allegations, he National N-POWER Programme Manager, Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo has been appointed in an acting capacity as the National Co-ordinator/CEO pending the conclusion of the investigation.
Her suspension is coming about three months after the confirmation of her appointment by the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
It is on record that prior to Halima’s appointment, she worked as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme.
She had previously served with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development between 2017 and 2022.
