The Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria (MAAN) has commiserated with Mrs. Joyce Folarin, the widow of the late Chairman, Port Consultative Council (PCC), Otunba Kunle Folarin who passed on earlier this month.
In a condolence message signed by MAAN President and Secretary, Mr. Bodunrin Adewole and Mrs. Igbeaku Evulukwu respectively, MAAN condoled with the family over the demise of the late erudite Chairman of PCC.
It stated that the condolence letter which was written on behalf of the Advisory Board, Executive Council and members of MAAN was meant to express what it called “sincere and heartfelt condolences” on the passing of Folarin.
Continuing, MAAN said: “The maritime industry is indeed saddened by the sudden loss of the late Otunba Folarin as he gave so much to the development of different sectors of the maritime and shipping industry in Nigeria. There is no doubt that he was very active and played a leadership role which demonstrated that he was fully committed to the resurgence and sustainability of the maritime and shipping industry. In particular, we at the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria will mourn his loss as he was always willing to lend his full support at our various functions and activities whenever called upon”.
According to the condolence letter which was exclusively obtained by Maritime Bits, the association said the deceased will be greatly missed by one and all of us at the Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria.
“We ask you at this difficult time to take solace that he lived a fruitful and fulfilled personal and professional life replete with meritorious achievements. We are assured that he left behind family and friends to mourn his irreparable and irreplaceable loss. May the gentle soul of the late Otunba Folarin rest in perfect peace. Once again, kindly accept our heartfelt condolences”, it added.
Meanwhile, MAAN has led a delegation of its members to pay a condolence visit to the widow and other family members of the late Chairman of PCC in Lagos.
The delegation which was led by its President, Mr. Bodunrin Adewole and accompanied by the Vice, Mrs. Jean Chiazor Anishere, SAN condoled with the family over the demise of Folarin.
While extolling the virtues of Folarin and their various encounters with him, Adewole and Anishere enjoined them to take solace in the fact that the deceased was a good man who impacted so many lives in the maritime industry and beyond.
They stated that MAAN condolence visit to the family was informed by the need to commiserate with them over the irreparable loss of their loved one.
They also prayed God to console and send them help before, during and after all the programmes and activities earmarked for the funeral rites.
The highpoint of the visit was a prayer session for the family and the signing of the condolence register by Adewole and Anishere.
