Charkin Maritime Academy (CMA), Port Harcourt, Rivers State is one of the key maritime education training institutions in the country. It is also a reference point in maritime training in the West and Central Africa Sub-regions.

Its equipment and facilities including state of the arts simulators can compare neck-to-neck with those in academies located anywhere else in the globe, especially in the developed world.

On Saturday September 16, 2023, CMA which also has safety training centre in its sprawling campus rolled out the drums to mark its maiden passing out parade (POP) convocation ceremony.

The POP which took place at its parade ground, main campus, situated at Ozuoba, along the East West Road, Port Harcourt was a sight to behold as the cadets turned out in their immaculate white uniforms looking like top military officers. The dignitaries at the occasion, including parents and guardians clapped intermittently as the cadets matched majestically accompanied by the school band.
