The pioneer President, Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria (MAAN), Mrs. Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour, SAN has lost her mother, Mrs. Bamidele Abiose Akande.

A retired nurse and justice of peace (JP), the matriarch of the family passed on recently at the ripe age of 91 after a brief illness.

A chartered arbitrator, Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour who disclosed this to Maritime Bits in Lagos also unveiled the funeral arrangements for the late octogenarian.

These include a wake and service of songs slated for April 27, 2023 at Bell Event Centre, Campbell Street, Lagos; lying in state on April 28, 2023 at the family home; and a funeral service at the Chapel, Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos. Interment will take place at the same venue immediately after the funeral service.

Apparently touched by the development, Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour said the memories of her mother are “forever and we say goodbye from this side of the divide”.

Besides Mrs. Rhodes-Vivour, Mrs. Akande is survived by the retired judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Hon. Olabode Rhodes-Vivour; Mrs. Olakunle Okupe; Engr. Oladipo and Mrs. Tolulope, a member of the House of Representatives; as well as 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
