Erstwhile Chairman, Association of African Maritime Administration (AAMA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside is one of the 50 speakers expected at the Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference holding September 4-6 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He is also billed to speak at a university event in China and later in September, at the Arab Academy for Maritime in Egypt.
Among other things, the conference is expected to share ideas on latest innovations in the industry across the globe.
Organised by the Transport General Authority (TSA) of Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of the kingdom’s Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, His Excellency, Saleh Aljasser, the conference will bring together experts from the maritime industry.
The event aligns with TSA’s objective of improving the trustworthiness, dependability and sustainability of the transport sector.
Peterside who is the immediate past Director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is the lead speaker on maritime circular economy.
According to a statement issued by his media team and made available to Maritime Bits, Peterside would be sharing his thoughts and ideas on opportunities within the maritime industry. He would be navigating the key pillars of the maritime circular economy subject, including its benefits, notable initiatives, challenges, and why it is the future of the maritime economy.
Maritime Bits had reported that as the NIMASA helmsman, Peterside undertook measures that rejuvenated the maritime regulatory agency, making it one of the most admired among Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the country.
