Journalists covering the maritime sector of the economy have concluded plans to organize colloquium in honour of the late maritime expert, Otunba Kunle Folarin who passed on last November.

The event which is expected to attract participants from the maritime industry and beyond will take place on Thursday January 19, 2023 at Rockview Hotel, Apapa GRA, Apapa, Lagos.

The journalists under the auspices of the Media Friends of Late Otunba Kunle Folarin are organizing the one day colloquium in collaboration with the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC).

Apart from media practitioners, captains of industry, dignitaries, members of his family, friends and associates are expected to grace the occasion.

A master mariner and former Minister of Interior, Captain Emmanuel lheanacho is expected to chair the occasion while a lead presentation titled “Ensuring Effective Disbursement of Cabotage Vessel Financing” will be delivered by a Lagos legal practitioner, Mrs. Jean Chiazor Anishere, SAN.

A statement issued in Lagos by the organisers and made available to Maritime Bits stated that a panel of discussants on the topic includes the Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh; the President, Ship Owners Association of Nigeria (SOAN), Dr. MkGeorge Onyoung, and a Lagos lawyer, Mrs. Funke Agbo, SAN.

According to the statement, the event which is billed to begin by 9am prompt is open to all maritime stakeholders.
