Nigeria’s umbrella body for journalists covering the maritime sector of the economy, the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has fixed its third quarter breakfast meeting on July 24, 2024.
To this end, it has formally invited stakeholders in the maritime industry to the occasion which is expected to take place at the Rockview Hotel, Apapa Lagos.
The association in a statement signed by its President, Mr. Godfrey Bibvere said the theme of the breakfast meeting: “Trade Facilitation and President Tinubu’s Economic Agenda: Matters Arising” has become germane in the light of present development in the country.
According to the statement which was obtained by Maritime Bits, the breakfast meeting was also intended to educate the public on contributions of trade to the development of the nation’s economy.
Those expected to attend the breakfast meeting include the Comptroller General, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and other chief executives of government agencies and critical stakeholders in the industry.
Ship owners, freight forwarders, as well as the President General, Maritime workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju are also expected to attend the breakfast meeting.
Participants at the breakfast meeting are also expected to brainstorm on trade facilitation with a view to proffering solutions to the challenges.
