The umbrella of journalists covering the maritime sector of the economy, Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has heralded its activities and programmes for 2025 with thanksgiving and prayers.
The association which remains the oldest beat association in the maritime industry also celebrated its members’ birthdays with fun fare.
Speaking at its maiden meeting at its International Maritime Press Centre, Apapa, Lagos, its President, Mr. Godfrey Bivbere expressed gratitude to God for keeping members and their families safe throughout 2024.
He also thanked God for the successes recorded by the association in the past year just as he charged members to brace up for the tasks ahead this year.
He revealed that the association has a lot of activities and programmes in 2025.
Sequel to the provision of MARAN branded birthday cake and wine for celebrants, members who had their birthdays between July and December 2024 were celebrated.
To this end, celebrants for each of the month took their turns to pose for group photographs with the cake and wine.

A Lagos base cleric, Pastor Ezekiel Vincent had earlier led members of the association in thanksgiving and prayers.
Pastor Vincent thanked God for MARAN and its members and prayed for good health and enlargement of their coasts in 2025.
