A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Bolous Sylva Indiamaowei has resigned his membership of the party and joined the National Democratic Party (NDC).
Indiamaowei who was a pioneer member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly (BSHA) in 1999 under the auspices of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) told Maritime Bits that he tendered his resignation letter from APC to the Chairman of his ward in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area (KOLGA).
The APC chieftain who was also a former member of the National Assembly, representing his constituency in the lower chamber also revealed that the Chairman of Ward 10, Okoloba, KOLGA signed and received his resignation from APC on Monday 4th of May, 2026.
In the same vein, the erstwhile legislator who is noted for his fiery submissions and advocacy on the floor of BSHA and the House of Representatives when it concerns the interest his people also told Maritime Bits that he has submitted his notice of membership of NDC to its Chairman, Ward 10, Okoloba, KOLGA, Mr. Tarikimi Aro.
According to Indiamaowei who is also a grassroots politician and philanthropist, the Chairman of NDC in his ward, signed his notice of membership and received him into the party. I look forward into meeting the yearnings and aspirations of my people under the auspices of NDC in the months ahead.
The former lawmaker told his teeming supporters at Okoloba that his defection has become necessary in order for his constituency to align properly with the party.
He thanked the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri for the period he served in his administration, pointing out that he would continue to do what is good for the people of Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency in his new political party.
