Mr. Kingsley Anaroke

For the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kings Communications Limited, Mr. Kingsley Anaroke, he was simply doing what he loves to do, sticking out his neck for a noble cause. The fight for women empowerment no matter what it takes.

Anaroke who is also the Founder of MMS Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame (WoFHoF) Initiative is a hard fighter especially when his instinct tells him he is on the right path. His over a decade initiative for female folks has attracted the attention of the high-brow Ikeja Club, Lagos.

The prestigious club found him worthy to be nominated for its award of excellence for gender advocacy and empowerment.

He would be conferred the award on August 27th, 2021 when the club marks its 55th anniversary at its premises, 23, Awolowo way, Ikeja, Lagos alongside other distinguished personalities from various walks of life.

These include the Oniru of Iru Kingdom, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal; President of Epe Club, Engr. Adebola Rasheed Shabi; and the Chairman, Golden Bet Lotto, Hon. Chief Idowu Osuolale Obasa.

Others are the Iyalode of Yoruba Land, High Chief Alaba Lawson; and the former Chairman of Island Club, Chief Stephen Ademola Dada.

The President of Ikeja Club, Mr. Ayodeji Randle and its Honorary General Secretary, Barrister Olugbenga Ajisafe in a letter titled; “Letter of Invitation and Conferment of Award”, hailed erudite journalist for the MMS WoFHoF Initiative’s strides in bridging gender gaps and empowering women, among other things.

In part, the letter read: “We congratulate you on this well-deserved honor which is an encouragement for you to do more. We are hopeful that you will honor this invitation and have your family, friends, well-wishers and business associates to felicitate with you on this occasion of honour”.

Since his nomination for the award was made public, Anaroke has been receiving accolades from far and near. Those who lauded him for the award include the erstwhile Director, Special Duties, Director General Office, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Hajia Lami Tumaka; the Former Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria President, Mrs. Jean Chiazor Anishere, SAN; the President of the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), Mr. Anya Njoku; Publisher of Shipping Worls magazine, Elder Asu Beks and the former Acting Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) who is presently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Le Look Bags, Chief (Mrs,) Chinwe F. O, Ezenwa.

It is on record that Ikeja Club which was established on July 27th, 1966 at the instance of its founding members who realized the need to have a serene place of relaxation and socialization after a hard day’s work.

The club has over the years realized the need to introduce other benefits for members such as business lectures, sectional competitions, inter-club competitions, family bonding events, Easter celebrations, Ramadan lectures, children’s events, Christmas events and other events beneficial to human developments.

As a tradition, the club celebrates its annual anniversary with the induction of new members and award conferment to some distinguished and outstanding individuals as well as corporate organizations with excellent performances in their various areas of specialization.
