Then life gets a little too much to handle. It is easy to feel you need to do big things to get back on track, but here are three simple things in everyday life that can keep you going:
·        Food – It is not just a fuel that keeps your body working, it is a source of pleasure and comfort. Whether you are angry, feeling low or going through a rough patch, a good meal has a way of boosting your mood. Food also has a way of bringing people together, either over a pot of jollof rice or a sumptuous bowl of chicken pepper soup, to create wonderful memories. When next you are eating, take your time to appreciate the flavour, colour and components of the food before you.
·        Laughter – Ever seen someone laugh so heartily that you instantly feel like laughing? That is the power of laughter. It is contagious, free and makes everything feel a little less hard. Laughing does not mean you have lost sight of your problems; it only shows that you choose to express joy amid uncertainty. Today, look around you and find the humour in everyday life, be around people that make you laugh and also be the reason someone smiles.
·        Music – It says more than what words can express and does not need permission to enter your spirit. A song can pull you out of sadness or give you permission to feel it. It can remind you of someone you love, a season of your life or the reason why you are alive. Music helps you connect with yourself and the world. It has the ability to match whatever emotion you are feeling. Take a look at your playlist. What songs make you excited, at peace or cry?

When these three medicines are combined together, they remind you to slow down, connect and appreciate the beauty of life. What is your favourite medicine?

See you next week.
