Sifax Group has deepened its foray into the hospitality industry with the construction of another five star hotel in the Lagos State capital, Ikeja.
The decision of the conglomerate to build another global standard hotel is coming on the heels of the huge success it recorded with the establishment of the iconic Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja four years ago.
It stated that the hotel which is scheduled to be completed within 24 months will feature what it called “state-of-the-art facilities”, expanded meeting spaces and world-class amenities designed to cater local and international guests.
According to the conglomerate, this project will further enhance Lagos reputation as a hub for luxury hospitality, increase room capacity, create more employment opportunities, and meet the growing demand for premium hospitality services in Nigeria.
Situated in the highbrow Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ikeja under the auspices of its hospitality subsidiary, MacFolly Hospitality Limited, the Courtyard by Marriot will be situated at a shouting distance to the Lagos Marriot Hotel.
Maritime Bits checks revealed that MacFolly Hospitality Limited is the initiator of the strides Lagos Marriot Hotel has made since it opened its doors for business four years ago.
Sifax Group in a statement signed by its Group Head, Corporate Communications, Mr. Oluwamuyiwa Akande said the 100-room Courtyard by Marriott will be built next to the Lagos Marriott Hotel.
According to the statement which was made available to Maritime Bits, the construction of the hotel will reinforce Mac Folly Hospitality Limited commitment to delivering world-class hospitality experiences in Lagos.
The conglomerate stated that the official groundbreaking ceremony of the hotel was attended by prominent figures including its Chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, his wife, Folashade, Regional Vice President of Marriott International for Sub-Saharan Africa, Johan Cronje and the Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Rasheed Akanbi, Telu 1.
Afolabi in his remarks at the occasion noted that the growing demand for premium hospitality experience in Lagos has necessitated the new project.
His words: “About four years ago, we launched the Lagos Marriott Hotel which is next door and the experience has been very fascinating due to the world-class lodging, dining, and event experience that we offer our customers.
