The organisers of the 10th Annual Maritime Students and Youth Conference (AMSAY) has made public the keynote speaker of the event. He is renowned maritime and aviation expert, Captain Warredi Enisuoh.
Enisuoh who is also the erstwhile Director in the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) is expected to bring his wealth of experience and exposure as he delivers the keynote speech at the much awaited event that not a few stakeholders are expected to attend.
According to a statement issued by the organisers and made available to Maritime Bits, the conference popularly known as “A Day With Nigerian Maritime Students,” is scheduled to hold on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the Conference Hall of Mission to Seafarers, 29 Marine Road, Apapa, Lagos.
Enisuoh who is presently the Executive Director, Operations and Technical, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited will speak on the topic titled, “The Youth and the Future of Nigerian Maritime Sector: Understanding How Nations Develop Their Maritime Industry.”
With over two decades of global experience spanning maritime operations, aviation, and national security, Enisuoh is widely regarded as a leading authority in maritime safety, shipping development, and infrastructure protection in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
He holds a Master Mariner Class 1 Unlimited Foreign Going License, an Aircraft Pilot’s License, and a Diploma in Aviation. His academic journey includes training at the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, Akwa Ibom State; Arab Maritime Transport Academy, Egypt; Australian Maritime College, University of Tasmania; Tasmanian Aviation College; and the Swiss Air Training Centre in Zurich, Switzerland.
Over the years, he has held strategic roles across continents, including eight years with Pacific International Lines in Singapore and six years with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). He also served as a lecturer, instructor, course developer, and examiner at the Australian Maritime College.
In Nigeria, he contributed significantly to sectoral development when he was in NIMASA. It is on record that at various times in NIMASA, he served as Director, Maritime Safety as well as Director, Shipping Development.
Enisuoh’s keynote speech will also feature a high-level panel discussion to be moderated by a Marine Surveyor and Senior Lecturer, Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Captain Fola Ojutalayo.
Panelists who are drawn from diverse segments of the maritime industry include regulators, ship owners, local content experts, technical professionals, legal practitioners, operators, and the academia.
In the same vein, representatives from NIMASA, Ship Owners Association of Nigeria (SOAN), Nigerian Ship Owners Association (NISA), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), NLNG Shipping and Marine Services Limited, and MAN, Oron are expected to discuss the lead paper.
The conference is an annual event organised by Platforms Communications and has over the years evolved into a critical platform for youth advocacy, mentorship and stakeholders-students engagements to discuss and proffer solutions to contemporary issues affecting the future of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The statement quoted the convener, Mr. Sylvanus Obasi saying that the conference has consistently driven conversations around industry reforms, capacity development, innovation, and sustainable growth.
