Sifax Group and the Port Authority Police (Western) Command have resolved to join forces in order to make security in the nation’s seaports situated in Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, Lagos better.
The Chairman, Sifax Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi who dropped the hint while receiving the new Commissioner of Police, Port Authority Police (Western) Command, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Iyabode Agbaminoja who paid the company a courtesy visit, stressed the need for all stakeholders in the nation’s port ecosystem to support the operations of the command.
Afolabi averred that this was the only way to ensure security of lives and property, safeguard port infrastructure and guarantee conducive environment for legitimate commercial activities within the nation’s ports.
He lauded the performance of Agbaminoja in her previous postings around the country’s maritime industry just as he pledged Sifax Group’s support and co-operation for all the command’s initiatives.
His words: “Sifax Group has built a solid relationship with CP Toyin Agbaminoja over the years, and we are glad on her new promotion which I believe is a demonstration of the Nigeria Police hierarchy trust in her ability to deliver value in the Lagos ports and beyond. Sifax Group will continue to support the Port Authority Police Command.”
Agbaminoja had earlier in her remarks, commended Sifax Group for its impact in the industry and noted that the visit was to further strengthen the relationship between the company and the command due to the shared commitment of both institutions to maritime security.
Group Coordinating Director, Wunmi Eniola-Jegede; Managing Director, Ports and Cargo Handling Services Limited, Mr. John Jenkins; Deputy Director, Strategy and Operations, Mr. Oliver Omajuwa; and the Group Head, Corporate Communications, Olumuyiwa Akande in Sifax Group were said in a statement made available to Maritime Bits to be on Afolabi’s team to receive Agbaminoja and her entourage.
According to the statement, Agbaminoja was accompanied on the visit by senior officers of the command including the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations, Mr. Inusa Karyah; Assistant Commissioner of Police, Administration, Olufikayo Fawole; Area Commander Western Ports, Mr. Sunday Adeyeri; and the Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Isaac Hundeyin.
