Hynek Media has joined forces with Media Anti-Corruption Initiatives to host a landmark seminar spotlighting the transformative role of B’Odogwu technology and women in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
A statement issued by the Project Coordinator, Mr. Lucky Onyeji and the Secretary, Rev. John Iwori said the one-day event is scheduled for by 10am on Tuesday November 4th, 2025, at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos.
Among other things, the event will explore the impact of the B’Odogwu digital platform on trade facilitation and honour the contributions of women in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
The seminar with the theme “The Impact of the B’Odogwu Digital Platform on Trade Facilitation and Women’s Contributions to the Maritime Sector: Challenges in the New Marine and Blue Economy – How Far, How Well?”, will bring together key stakeholders, policymakers, and industry leaders.
The President, Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA), Mrs. Rollens Macfoy will be the Chairman of the occasion while the Comptroller General of Customs, Alhaji Adewale Adeniyi is expected to be the chief guest of honour.
The statement also showed that Princess Chi Eze will be the Special Guest of Honour just as the Founder of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam will serve as father of the day.
According to the organisers, the seminar will feature a series of high-profile presentations by prominent women in maritime, including the Vice Chairman, ENL Consortium Limited, Princess Victoria Haastrup; Vice President, Clarion Shipping, Chief (Mrs.) Benaldine Eloka; President, Bomarah Group, Hajia Bola Muse; and the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Kikiri Light Terminal (KLT). Comptroller (Mrs.) Joy Edelduok.
These speakers will address the evolving role of women in maritime leadership, the challenges they face, and their contributions to industry growth.
The Customs High Command and freight experts will also dissect the success of the indigenous B’Odogwu platform which has become a cornerstone of Nigeria’s trade facilitation strategy.
Speakers at the seminar which is expected to attract participants from the maritime sector of the economy and beyond include CAC, Tin Can Island Port Command, Comptroller Frank Onyeka; CAC, PTML, Comptroller Joe Anani; National President, NAGAFF, High Chief Tochukwu Ezisi; and GTP Chief Consultant, Dr. Segun Musa.
The organisers averred that the seminar promises to be a pivotal moment in advancing gender inclusion and digital innovation in Nigeria’s maritime landscape.
