It’s another weekend to binge watch series that will leave you wanting more. Whether you crave suspense, a good old laugh or a puzzling mystery, here are five series worth watching this weekend.
- The Wives (YouTube)
This drama series centers on three young couples navigating the complexities and challenges of their relationships through the lens of faith. Produced by The Elevation Church, it addresses themes such as marital conflict, infidelity, communication breakdown and emotional abuse. Together with the characters, you learn about forgiveness and the importance of spiritual guidance. - To Kill A Monkey (Netflix)
If you are yet to see this series, best believe peer pressure has got nothing on you. Take a dive into the world of Efemini, a talented programmer who, driven by desperation and poverty, joins a cybercrime syndicate led by his acquaintance, Oboz. This 8-episode long series explores themes of betrayal, mental health, family and moral decadence. A comedy series that follows the dramatic events that take place in a typical Nigerian hair salon. Aunty Sola, the salon owner, does not often know when to keep her mouth shut and this inevitably always lands her in trouble. The show explores relatable scenarios and different dilemmas faced by Aunty Sola, her staff and customers, as they deal with societal issues in a humorous and comical way. - Beauty In Black (Netflix)
This drama series tells the story of two women with different lives who become unexpectedly connected. It explores themes of ambition, survival, power and revenge. Expect fast-paced scenes, scandalous drama and unexpected plot twists.
